Her Special Story

I had to go back to work this week. So I decided to show the students what I have been up to while I was out for the last six weeks. Stephen helped me to put this little slide show together. I think some of the pictures are repeated but it shows from prebirth until now.

Visiting Georgia

Georgia is the first grandchild on both sides of the family so she has been very popular. We have really enjoyed all of our company. Georgia has enjoyed meeting her new family too. We have learned a lot from everyone that has come to visit. There are so many different ways to love a baby. We are also happy to just be our little family for the next month until we get to see family again for her blessing in April.

Welcoming Aunt Marisa with some spit up.

Welcome Georgia Thi Polk!

Fabulous, Precious, Darling, Lovely, Wonderful, Amazing, Elated, Awed!

Georgia was born February 6, 2009. She was born 6 lbs. 11 oz. and 18 inches long. She is so tiny. I can't even believe that Stephen and I are parents. It wows me every time I look at her that we made such an amazing creature. God has smiled down upon us and given us the most amazing gift. We are so happy to have her. She is fabulous!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

We celebrated our very first Christmas at home this year. It is the first time that either of us has not been home for Christmas since our missions. It took us a little while to get the holiday spirit but we finally did and had a very nice quiet Christmas.

Welcome to Blogging!!!

With a new baby on the way I guess it is time that I too joined the world of blogging. I have no clue what I am doing here. But I am told that once you have kids you have to have a blog. I don't know who will look at our blog but I guess it doesn't matter.

Making the Nursery!!!

Our big project for the winter break is to get the nursery ready. We figure it will be the only time that we have to get things ready before the baby comes. Our lives just are too hectic. We moved Stephen's office down stairs and opened up the spare room upstairs for the nursery. The biggest project for us was putting in a closet. Stephen wowed me with his carpentry ability. It looks fabulous. Then we (and when I say we I actually mean Stephen) picked our a paint and painted the room. Then he added a chair rail around the room in white. I love it. I can't wait for the furniture to come and to be able to continue the decorating process. It gets us even more excited to have la petite (as my brother Andrew calls her) come to our family.

Final product of Stephen's hard work.
